Summary

Grade II listed farmhouse and attached Farmbuildings. It is dated 1593 but the larger part appears to be late 17th century with 19th century alterations. The walls are partly rendered coursed squared buff sandstone rubble and blocks. It has a stone-slate roof. The farmbuildings form a south range with shippon (cow house) and hay loft attached to house and a corn barn and further shippon to the west.

Full Description

Saltersford Hall and attached Farmbuildings, dated 1593 but larger part appears to be late C17 with C19 alterations. Partly rendered coursed squared buff sandstone rubble and blocks. Stone-slate roof. Stone ridge and two stone and one brick chimney. Farmhouse is L-shaped and has a two-storey, three-bay west front. Central doorway has low segmentally arched head with a moulded triangular pediment above, containing initials HF. To right is date stone. Interior: Some exposed beams visible. Farmbuildings form a south range with shippon and hay loft attached to house and a corn barn and further shippon to the west. Openings have long and short quoining and a mixture of stone and wooden lintels. Interior: Some original tiebeam and collar trusses visible (1). Detailed history and description of hall (2).
