Monument record 2624/1 - Adlington Mill

Some remaining stonework indicates the position of the mill building and the rim of the tailrace is quite clear. The pool is now filled in and overgrown with a coppice of trees

Bott gives a NGR of 907 790, but there are no trees, and no water supply marked at this NGR which is at Mill House farmhouse to the South.

The County Treasures Record gives Bott's NGR, with Norris's description for Adlington Mill, and states that the Edward VI fulling mill was at Norris's NGR (

The suggested location of Adlington Mill, was subject to an evaluation trenching in June 2007. As no archaeological features or deposits were observed during the evaluation trenching, no recommendations for further work have been made.
