Summary

Archaeological investigations carried out on the south side of Cuppin Street by S Ward in 1986 recorded extensive evidence of activity from the medieval and post medieval periods. The earliest phase of medieval activity (phase I) overlies the Saxon and Roman features and consisted of a series of deposits interpreted as cultivation soils that formed over the site until the mid 13th or 14th century when structural activity began.

Archaeological investigations carried out on the south side of Cuppin Street by S Ward in 1986 recorded extensive evidence of activity from the medieval and post medieval periods.

The earliest phase of medieval activity (phase I) overlies the Saxon and Roman features and consisted of a series of deposits interpreted as cultivation soils that formed over the site until the mid 13th or 14th century when structural activity began. (5)
