Summary

Straight linear cropmarks running N-S across this field are visible on aerial photographs and may represent ridge and furrow. There are 2 further cropmarks, running E-W which match the field boundaries shown on the 1840 Pownall Fee township map but are absent on the 1882 and 1909 maps. The field is boggy and nothing is visible on the ground. Cropmarks are visible changes in the growth of vegetation that may indicate a buried feature. These distinctions can usually only be identified from Aerial Photographs.

Full Description

Straight linear cropmarks running N-S across this field visible on aerial photographs; possibly ridge and furrow. 2 further cropmarks, running E-W across field correspond with field boundaries shown on the 1840 Pownall Fee township map but absent on the 1882 and 1909 (Ordnance Survey) maps. Field boggy; nothing visible on the ground (1).
