Full Description
On a natural terrace immediately east of Lantern Wood are a group of incomplete curvilinear enlosures. They range in diameter from 6-12m and are contained by collapsed dry stone walling about 1m wide. All the walls have one large gap and there are lesser gaps in some cases. They stand directly on the line of view between Lyme Hall and the Lantern and were presumably demolished at some time before the Lantern was built in 1727. However, their date and function are not clear. They are not regular enough to be hut circles or large enough to be sheepfolds. Possibly part of miniature golf course marked on OS map (1).
