Monument record 2475 - A.A. Box
Please read our guidance about the use of Cheshire Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
There is a old A.A.(Automobile Association) box on the A537. These boxes had phones inside so members with keys could use them to summon roadside assistance. They were replaced in the 1970's and 80's with the more familiar roadside phones. There were over 1000 of these boxes in Britain after the 2nd World War but less than 50 survive.
