Summary
On the north side of A54 Buxton to Congleton road near Cleulow Cross is a cast iron mile post painted white with black lettering. It is triangular in section. It is inscribed on top "Cheshire County Council 1896" on left side "Buxton 9 miles" on right side: "Congleton 7 miles".

North side of A54 Buxton to Congleton road. Near Cleulow Cross. Cast iron triangular section, painted white with black lettering. Inscribed on top: Cheshire County Council 1896; on left side: Buxton 9 miles; on right side: Congleton 7 miles. In excellent condition. Photo in PP SMR - film no.33; 10 (1).
