Summary
On the north side of A54 Buxton to Congleton road is a cast iron mile post painted white with black lettering. It is triangular in section. It is inscribed on top "Cheshire County Council 1896" on left side "Buxton 8 miles" on right side: "Congleton 8 miles".

Full Description
North side of A54 Buxton to Congleton road, east of `Wild Boar'. Cast iron, triangular section, painted white with black lettering. Dated 1896. Inscribed on top: Cheshire County Council 1896; on left side: Buxton 8 miles; on right side: Congleton 8 miles. In fair condition. Photograph in PP SMR - film no. 36; 28 (1).
