Summary

Cast-iron milepost, painted white with black lettering. It is triangular in section and dated 1896. It is located on the north side of the A54 Buxton - Congleton road. It is inscribed "Cheshire County Council 1896" on the top and "Buxton 5 miles" on the one side and "Congleton 11 miles" on the other. It is in a rusty condition.
