Milepost. Cast-iron painted white with black lattering. Very rusty. Inscribed: Buxton 4 miles, MaccD 7 3/4 miles. 3/4 mile SE of Cat & Fiddle Inn

Milepost 4 miles from buxton, 7 3/4 from Macclesfield. II Milepost, 1821, cast iron (of the bollard type with belled-out base). Raised beads divide the head into 3 panels: that to the right Buxton 4 Miles, that to the left Macclesfield 7 3/4 Miles, that to the rear blank. The maker's name, vertically on the stem, is J Harrison, Derby. All lettering is raised.
