Full Description
Bollard milepost. Cast iron post painted white with black lettering. Inscribed: MacclD 3 3/4 miles Buxton 8 miles (1). Cylindrical head on narrower cylindrical post wth 3 panels. Makers name J Harrison Ltd. Derby is on the post. c.1820. One of a complete set of bollard mileposts on new Macclesfield to Buxton turnpike of 1821 (2).
