Full Description

Stone hammer....found a short time ago near Siddington...in a boggy piece of ground, about two yards below the surface, and upon the red marl. Its length is 7.5 ins, breadth 3.5 ins, thickness 2.5ins, hole for the handle 1 3/8 ins; one end is rounded, the other vertically wedge-shaped. In composition it appears to be in character with some of the lower grits which crop out about 2 miles southward (millstone grit) (1).
