Full Description

Preforated stone hammer found at Mottran St Andrew prior to 1893. Exhibited at a meeting of the Lancs and Cheshire Archaeological Society at Chetham College, Manchester (1). Shafthole Axe with expanded blade and truncated conical butt (3).
Early Bronze Age Shaft-hole axe found in Alderley, (Manchester Museum collection number 38352) crude and partly worn/ used, labelled 'from Alderley' in MM collection. No NGR given (5).
