Summary

Grade II listed farmhouse. It is dated 1620 and had a second gable front added in the late 17th century. It is coursed buff sandstone rubble with pink sandstone dressings. The interior walls are timber-framed with plastered infill. There are also remains of a brick oven and spice cupboard.

Full Description

Farmhouse, dated 1620, second gable front added later C17, altered C20. Coursed buff sandstone rubble with pink sandstone dressings. Kerridge stone-slate roof with central ridge chimney. Originally a baffle entry with parlour wing to left and two rooms to right. Two-storey, four-bay front with stone-coped end gables projecting slightly forward. Right end bay has five- light splayed stone mullions in both storeys with a blocked semi-circular headed light above. Left end bay similar but two single-light windows below and date in gable light. Central bays have five-light mullioned windows below and four-light above. Blocked doorway. Interior: Timber-framed partition walls with plastered infill. Bevelled openings to fireplaces in parlour wing. Ovolo-moulded beams in ground floor, King-post trusses. Remains of brick oven and spice cupboard (1).
