Summary

Grade II listed farmhouse. Built in the mid 17th century with an early 18th century extension to the rear. It has whitewashed and rendered sandstone rubble walls and a stone-slate roof in an L-shaped plan.

No. 123 (Lane Head Farmhouse) Buxton Old Road.
Farmhouse, mid C17 with early C18 extension to rear and C19 alterations. Whitewashed and rendered sandstone rubble. Kerridge stone-slate roof, stone ridge and 3 brick chimneys. L-shaped in plan. 2-storey, asymmetrical 3-bay front. 2-light horizontal sliding sashes with glazing bars and hammer-dressed sills below, similar 3-light windows with lintels and sills above. Chamfered doorcase to right with C20 board door. Interior: 2 room plan with door opening to baffle of gable fireplace. Ovolo-moulded beams with plain beam over fireplace lit by window at rear. Roof truss shows tie-beam over fireplace lit by window at rear. Roof truss shows tie-beam with 2 diagonal struts above. Extension to rear has chamfered beams.. Whitewashed and rendered sandstone rubble. Kerridge stone-slate roof, stone ridge and three brick chimneys. L-shaped plan. Two-storey, symmetrical three-bay front. Two-light horizontal sliding sashes with similar three-light windows above. Chamfered doorcase to right. Interior: Two-room plan with door opening into a baffle of the gable fireplace. Ovolo-moulded ceiling beams and plain inglenook beam over the fireplace lit by small window to rear. Tiebeam trusses with two diagonal struts
