Formerly farmhouse, now house. Late seventeenth century with a twentieth century extension. Coursed squared buff sandstone rubble. Kerridge stone-slate roof and two plastered chimneys. Originally gable entry two-room house, now developed into a long rectangular plan. Two-storey, three-bay north front to original house. Mixture of tall chamfered stone mullioned windows, three under rubble hood moulds. Interior: Timber-framed partitions with wattle and daub infill. Chamfered ceiling beams with flat stops and a fire beam and heck screen. Parts of original staircase with flat serpentine balusters and a square newel. Oak panelled cupboards in stairwell.

The tithe map for Adlington township records the location of the farmhouse and depicts a barn or outbuilding to the immediate north.
