White Lee Farmhouse, Wincle, Grade II Listed: - Farmhouse early C17 altered, and extended to right mid C19, of reddish-buff rubble sandstone, mostly coursed, with Kerridge stone-slate roofs. The C17 cross-gable, left, is of 2 storeys plus attic. The right wing of 2 storeys has remnants of an oak frame in random rubble walling at inner end, front; the rest in C19.

All stone-mullioned windows to the cross-gable wing are double chamfered: to front gable 2 lower storey windows (left of 3 lights, right truncated by later buttress, now of 2 lights) and indication of former doorway nearly central; one formerly 3-light upper storey window (with mullions removed) and remains of small blocked window to right; attic has square window, formerly 2-light. To left end a 6-light window to lower storey; 2-light window to upper storey right and formerly 3-light window (mullions removed) left. Rear gable has one window to each storey, originally of 5 lights to lower and upper storeys but with 2 mullions removed from upper, and square window (formerly of 2 lights) to attic. Cavetto labels to cross-wing windows (except lower storey at front). Later vernacular timber casements. Oak lintel to partly blocked broad opening (now containing door and a small window) at inner end of right wing. Exposed oak purlin-ends in cross-gable). Interior of the cross-wing has 3 main oak beams to lower storey; the front beam is slotted perhaps for former screen, the central and rear beams have stopped ovolo moulds. A cross-beam suggests former ingle-nook against inner wall. Oak purlins and a truss with later queen-struts. There is stated to have been a spiral stair; the present plain stair is in right wing. The mullions are bevelled internally.
