Summary

Grade II listed farmhouse. Built in the 17th century and subsequently altered and extended. It is brick and stone and was rendered in the 1980's. It is two storeys high with a stone-slate roof. Inside there is a pair of crucks of great size. Crucks are two curved timbers that are cut from the same tree and used to support a roof from floor to apex.

Full Description

Barleigh Ford Farmhouse. C17, prob early, subsequently altered and extended. Brick and stone, rendered c.1980 at front, with stone-slate roof. Two storeys and four windows to front, all of three lights with chamfered mullions. Interior: stated to contain a pair of crucks of great size. Oak beams, a carved inglenook hood beam dated 1635 and oak panelling. Full architectural description (1).
