Full Description

Old Crowholt Farmhouse, Cowbrook Lane. Dated on datestone CR: 1663. Coursed rubble with ashlar dressings and stone-slate roof. Central projecting wing with ashlar quoins. Lefthand reveal of this projecting wing has C20 door, with circular window above, in centre of large ashlar stone. Single storey C20 addition to right. Lefthand gable has a stone surrounded, chamfered, mullioned window. Interior: raised and fielded panelling to ground floor room including frieze of female figures. Inscribed panel 'Church Wardens Seat / WA, EC, CW 1686' indicates that all panelling may have come from elsewhere. Full architectural description (1).
