Full Description
Hough Hall Farmhouse, Prestbury Road. Dated 1691 with C19 and early C20 additions. Brick with buff sandstone dressings. Slate roof. Three- storey symmetrical three-bay east front. Stone quoins and moulded stone bands at first and second floor. End bays have tall chamfered stone mullioned windows on ground and first storeys. Heavy moulded and rebated doorcase has central carved shield on the lintel reading DEM 1691. Above is a circular light in a square stone surround and a similar stone mullioned window in top storey. Later extensions to right and left in brick. Rear is roughcast but has further stone mullioned and a Venetian-style window. Interior: two original bead moulded ceiling beams. Remainder including wainscotting and stairs of early C20. Full architectural description (1).
