Originally two-bay cruck framed plan, but one bay demolished, now L-shaped. South range has a full cruck frame visible in the gable and a timber framed porch now in isolation. Mixture of iron casements and a wood mullioned window, all under cambered brick heads. Interior: Another full cruck frame visible inside the house. Massive stone inglenook fireplace with a chamfered beam. Sunken room in the south-west corner of the house is a former dairy. Full architectural description (1).
According to (2), the Farm house dates to c. 1450 and was referred to as Clock House in the 17th century due possibly to a clock in the gable wall. The farm was part of the Stanley Estate. There has been little alteration to the original timber structure although it has been slightly concealed. The structure is cruck-framed with wattle and daub panels present.there is also a possibility of a stone inglenook with a fire place inside (2).
