Full Description
The Ashes Cottage & Farmhouse (formerly farm buildings), Off Sack Lane. Former range of farm buildings, now farmhouse, stables and cottage. Mid 17th century stone plinth, timber frame, brick infill with slate roof. Front - 16 x 3 cells of small framing. Lefthand gable end has 5 x 3 small framing with angle braces, Queen posts and angle struts to gable. 18th century stable block added rear. Abutting at rear is a 17th century cottage originally separate, but joined to the 17th century farm building by the building of the 18th century stable block. This has a stone and brick plinth and small framing. Full architectural description (1).
