Summary

Churton House Farm is a grade II listed building. It was built in 1682 with later alterations and a rear extension. It is built of buff sandstone-dressed and local red brick, with a grey slate roof. There is a brick chimney on the rear slope of the roof. It has a two storey symmetrical front and a three storey porch with one room to each side. There is a flight of curved stone steps to the door.

Full Description

Churton House Farm, Pump Lane. House, 1682, extended at rear and altered. Of buff sandstone-dressed local red brick, with grey slate roofs. Two storey symmetrical front. Three storey porch with one room to each side. Door under plain fanlight in basket-arched opening of stone. Plain projecting band at first floor; flush band at second floor carries datestone carved JC : RSB : 1682. Window openings have cambered gauged brick heads and plain stone cills. In right end gable are a canted, hipped bay window to lower storey and leaded casements to upper storey and attic. The left gable has a cast iron Gothick casement to attic. Brick chimney on rear slope of roof.Flight of curved stone steps to door. C19 extension of two storeys at rear. Full architectural description (1).
