Full Description
Nos. 2 & 4 (Heywood's) Bollington Cross. Formerly farmhouse and barn, now two houses. House C17, barn early C18 with mid C19 alterations. Buff sandstone, Kerridge slate roof, five brick chimneys. Former farmhouse to right of two storeys and three bays. End bays have wooden casements under chamfered lintels. Upper windows in original gabled half dormers with plain barge boards. Decorative running vine leadwork on eaves between dormers. Interior: Main room has fixed court or bread cupboard to left of fireplace. Chamfered ceiling beams. Timber framed partition walls and roof structure intact. To left is converted barn - irregular two-storey, three-bay front. Left end bay is part of original barn with six-pane loading bay and arm in upper storey. Full architectural description (1).
