Summary

Grade II listed barn. Built in the 16th century and rebuilt in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is cruck framed with sandstone rubble walls and a stone-slate roof. A cruck is a beam used in timber framing. Two curved timbers that are cut from the same tree are used to support a roof from floor to apex.

Full Description

Barn: C16, walls rebuilt C19 and partly 1979. Sandstone rubble wall and Kerridge stone-slate roof. Two-storeys and three-bays. Modern openings. Interior: Has two full cruck trusses on padstones, both of good scantling. Northerly has collar and short struts to wallplates, southerly has cambered tiebeam with heavy King post.
