Full Description
Farmhouse: Late C16 with C19 exterior. Original timber frame hidden or replaced by white-washed rendered sandstone rubble walls with imitation timber-framing painted on. Kerridge stone-slate roof and two gable brick chimneys. Slightly asymmetrical two-storey and three-bay front. Openings C19. Interior: Little survives of original timber frame. Three tiebeams (one slightly cambered) have clusters of four bead moulds at the lower corners. Roof trusses have short diagonal struts to through purlins. Some early C18 four-board doors (1). The character of the beams suggest that they may have been over an open hall of late medieval or early C16 date (2).
