Full Description
Barn and Shippon attached to Chapel at Hough-hole House. C17 with C18 outshut. Coursed squared buff sandstone rubble. Stone-slate roof. Long downhill plan with shippon at lower end with central feeding passage. Openings have wooden or stone lintels. Barn has opposed small doorways and some ventilation slots. At left end is a coach house with a massive hammer- dressed sandstone surround to the entrance. This is under the chapel at Hough-hole House. Interior: Three roof trusses of tiebeam and collar with overlapping through purlins and ridge (1).
