Summary

Barn and Shippon (cow house) at Wright's Farmhouse. They were built in the 17th century with minor alterations. They have dry stone, sandstone rubble walls with stone-slate roofs.

Full Description

Barn and Shippon at Wright's Farmhouse. C17 with minor alterations. Dry stone, buff sandstone rubble walls. Stone-slate roof and stone ridge. Barn has cart entrance with wooden lintel on west face. Some ventilation slots and square pitch holes. Small shippons at either end. Interior: Four roof trusses of tie beam, two diagonal struts and collar. All the stones are laid 'watershot' (to throw off the rain) (1).
