Full Description
Amongst a collection of post-medieval and early modern pottery, found whilst digging the back garden of Oaktree Cottage, was a white circular pipe-clay mask with a grotesque face set in a circle of dots (1). Originally attached to a spike and of a type also found at Coole Hall Farm (RN: 2069/1), Norbury Booths Moat (RN: 1242) and in the Stoke area (2).
