Full Description
A Chapel of Ease was located within the lower town of Knutsford, according to Sir Peter Leicester in 1673. In 1744, the Parochial Chapel (RN: 1240/1) was little used as worship was held in an old building to which a Grammar school was attached at the bottom of Church Hill in King Street. It was replaced in 1744 by the construction of the new St John's Church on Church Hill (1).
