Summary

Grade II listed house. Built in 1690 and extended in the late 18th century. The walls are coursed rubble gritstone with a stone-slate roof. The 1690 portion to the left is of two storeys and two windows with a doorway surmounted by datestone reading "ET ET 1690."

Bank Top Cottage. House 1690 extended probably late C18, of coursed rubble gritstone with stone-slate roof. The 1690 portion to the left is of two storeys and two windows with central lobby-entrance doorway surmounted by datestone ET ET 1690. Altered window openings under C17 labels contain wood casements. At rear is a blocked window opening with three chamfered mullions of stone. C18 cross gable wing has label now over window, perhaps to staircase formerly behind its gable stack. Interior: baffle-entrance, altered inglenook, four tongue-stopped ovolo beams of oak, single-flight stair, with turned oak balusters and heavy moulded handrail, oak purlins and some oak rafters.
