Summary

A burial ground for the burial of Quakers. The burial ground is enclosed by a sandstone and brick wall which dates from the late seventeenth or eighteenth century. Within are gravestones dating from around 1660 to 1840. Historic maps suggest that the burial ground stopped being used for new burials between 1877 and 1898.

Graveyard walls. Late seventeenth or eighteenth century. Sandstone and red English garden wall bond brick. Rectangular enclosure, the walls are circa four feet high. Entrance front: wall of coursed stonework with triangular coping, gateway to right of centre. Similar wall to rear without gateway. Brick walls to sides with flat stone capping and some nineteenth and twentieth century replacement work. Burial stones date from c.1680 to c.1820.
