Full Description

Perforated stone axe-hammer from Alderley Edge. Brownish grey fine- grained stone (Group XV) (1). Given by Leicester Museum to Grosvenor Museum in 1951 (2). Axe is made of brownish-grey fine-grained rock and has an hour-glass perforation, flattened butt and slightly squared edges. Illustration (3).
