Full Description
Site of a medieval chapel at Mottram Old Hall. A chapel at Mottram is referred to in some dispositions relating to Newton in 1502, but it is possible that the chapel mentioned may be Newton Chapel. A field at the back of Mottram Old Hall is known as the chapel field and there is a tradition that a chapel once existed there. However, it is not referred to in any lists of chapels in Macclesfield (1).
