Summary

Earthworks which were associated with the mill pond of Peck Mill are visible to the west of Peck Mill Farm. It is possible that this mill was a fulling mill; a mill for the cleaning and thickening of woollen cloth.

An earthwork is visible to the immediate west of Peck Mill Farm. This is a long rectangular feature c.145m x c.25m which appears to utilise the pre-existing steam valley. Possibly the former mill pond.

The plot to the immediate west of the farm and stream valley is called 'Further Mill Garden'. The plot to Further Mill Garden's north is called 'Near Mill Field'.

Peck Mill: the name may refer to a type of mill with a pecking motion or the capacity to grind stones.
