Site of a plague stone. An entry in the parish register of Wilmslow in 1665 refers to the death of a woman suspected of dying of the plague. The stone which marks the burial stands in the middle of a large field, on the left-hand side of the road leading from Alderley Edge to Mobberley and just before reaching the Row of Trees on Lindow Common. It bears the letters ES and the date 1665.

The stone was removed c.1920 and broken up.
