Summary

Portions of Grade II listed, Medieval boundary wall of the former Ince Manor and Monastic Grange (CHER 19/4/0-2) now broken by modern gateways. The wall is built of squared coursed rubble, with a plain weathered plinth. Probably made of local sandstone.

Lengths of the lower courses of a stone wall with a moulded plinth visible to the south and south-east of the Manor, which are probably the remains of the estate wall of the grange.

Part of a stone-based wall survives along the south-west boundary of the courtyard. Along the south-east boundary of the plot there is a low stone wall with stone coping….Other boundary wall with stone coping and plinths survive along Kinsey's Lane, Marsh Lane and facing the square.

List description: Portions of boundary wall of former Manor or Grange of St Werburgh's Abbey, Chester, broken by modern entrance gateways. Squared coursed rubble walling with plain weathered plinth. Local sandstone. Stonework probably medieval.

Grade II Listed, portion of Boundary Wall between Junction of Kinsey's Lane with Pool Lane and Park Cottages.
List description: Portion of boundary wall of former Monastic Grange (of St Werburgh's Abbey, Chester). (Stonework probably Medieval). Squared coursed rubble of local red sandstone with plain weathered plinth.
