Full Description

Part of a slate dedication slab, possibly from a tribune's house. Found west of Bridge Street, on the south side of Watergate Street in 1729, in digging a wine cellar for Dr Dyson. The slab is now lost, but apparently survived until 1771. The dedication is to the divinity of the emperor and the lower part of the slab was apparently decorated (1) & (2).

The dedication is appropriate to a senior officer of the legion (3). RIB i 458.
