Full Description
Wall at Bibbys Nutritional Research, Hanns Hall Road, Neston incorporating sandstone sleeper blocks which may have come from the Liverpool- Manchester railway. Original Bibby works were at Court Hey, adjacent to the Broad Green embankment of the Liverpool-Manchester line. This embankment was widened in 1847 and stone sleepers were replaced by wooden ones. The Bibby family home was at Weatherstones (now the research centre) and the blocks could have been transported to Neston as a useful supply of sandstone (1-3).
