Summary

The mill is first mentioned in documentary sources around 1320. In 1626, the former post mill was replaced with a new turret mill by Sir William Massey. The mill is depicted on the Tithe map for the township. The accompanying award records the owner as Richard Congreve and the occupier as Moses Smith. Only the ivy covered lower courses of a stone-built windmill crowning the top of a low hill remain. The central wooden spindle remains, leaning on the outer wall.

The mill is first mentioned in documentary sources around 1320 with further references being made in 15th and 16th centuries. In 1626, the former post mill was replaced with a new turret mill by Sir William Massey

Only eight courses now remain of the original structure, but this includes a ate stone inscribed `R.O.1771'. Inside are the remains of a round timber shaft

Marked as 'Mill' on the Tithe map. The accompanying award records the owner as Richard Congreve and the occupier as Moses Smith. The latter is different to that of Mill House to the south. The plot name is Mill & Garden. A small building is located to the immediate north-east.
