Summary

Grade II* listed Church and rectory was held by St. Werburgh's Abbey from 1214. It is said to have retained Norman work until the restoration of 1854. Now it retains 14th and 15th century windows and a 15th centur tower. The remainder was remodelled and rebuilt in 1854 by Edward Hodkinson.

Full Description

Church and rectory in hands of St. Werburgh's Abbey from 1214. Said to have retained Norman work until restoration of 1854(1). Chancel retains C14 E window and C15 side windows. Tower of 1485-93 for Abbot Ripley. Remainder remodelled or rebuilt in 1854 by Edward Hodkinson. No. of fittings and 2 bells of the C17 (2).
