Summary

Grade II listed house built in the early 17th century and later altered. It is partly timber-framed with plastered brick nogging painted black and white. It was formerly the Village Inn and has beercellars which are cut into the solid rock. It was converted into an estate office with cottage attached in the 20th century.

Full Description

Early C17 altered. Partly timber-framed with brick nogging and plain pargetting between painted black and white. Sandstone base (painted) on similar rockbase. One storey, plus attic, with two C19 gabled dormers. Two altered casement windows and plain doorway to ground storey. Brick stack two storey one window addition on lefthand side. Tiles (1). Formerly Village Inn. Stanley Arms still possesses signs of former use in the beercellars which are cut into the solid rock. Later converted into an estate office with cottage attached (early C20) (2).
