<1> County Historic Environment Record, 1973-1985, Cheshire Archaeological Bulletin, No. 9, p. 80, O'Hanlon D, 1983 (Journal/Periodical). SCH565.
Raised flowerbed bounded by a curving hedge, in the south-west corner of Mill House garden, may represent the site of a peg mill. It is thought that Willaston Mill (CHER 28/1) was built in 1800 to replace an earlier mill located 30 yards to the west.
<2> Bryan E.C. & Morris D, 1997, Willaston's Heritage (Second Edition) (Book). SCH3852.
Possibly owner by the father in law to William Lightbound for 50 years prior to the construction of the new mill (CHER 28/1). May be the mill shown on the 1762 enclosure map.
