Full Description
Neolithic polished stone axe found July 1986 in a pond in the Town Park in Brookvale, by a schoolboy, Taken to Liverpool Museum for identification. Axe has facetted sides, central facet on each face with slight facet on upper left face adjacent to side. Certain amount of damage at butt end, all fractures have grey surface indicative of ancient damage, except lowest one on upper face which is dark green and therefore probably recent. Also a linear stud mark on top centre of lower face, probably recent. Drawing (1).
