Summary

Adjoining Spurstow Hall is the mill pond and derelict mill building of Spurstow Mill . The mill is marked on Bryant's map of 1831, though an earlier reference to 'Two Mill Meadows' is recorded in 1658. It is marked on the 1st edition 6 inch OS map of Cheshire as a 'Fish pond'. There is no mention of mill, so it was probably out of use by 1874, when the survey was completed.

Full Description

Adjoining Spurstow Hall is the mill pond and derelict mill building of Spurstow Mill (1). The mill is marked on Bryant (2), but Dodgson gives its earliest reference as 'Two Mill Meadows', in 1658 (3). Marked on the 1st edition 6 inch OS map as 'Fish pond'. No mention of mill, so probably out of use by 1874, when the survey was completed (5).
