Full Description
Site of this well was in front of the farm house known as Holywell or Hollywell House on the road between Ridley Bank and Faddiley. The will had a local reputation but was filled in many years ago and no particulars of its properties are known (1). The house is shown on the 1st edition OS map (1842) and on Bryant (1831). Big and Little Hollywell are named on the Tithe Award of 1841 (2). A well is shown at the side of the road leading to Hollywell House on the 1st edition OS map. This is the NGR given above. Hollywell House is at SJ 577 531 (3).
