Summary

Shavington Mill, built after 1840, is depicted on historic ordnance survey maps as a flour, and subsequently, a corn mill. By the 1909-10 3the mill was disused and later became a social club. The former mill pond is reputedly under the bowling green to the immediate east.

Full Description

The three storey brick building is now the local Social Club and the site of the pond is now the bowling green (1).

Bott describes the site as 'Pool filled and building gone'. His source isn't clear (2).

The mill is not depicted on the 1840 tithe map for the township (4).

Shavington Mill is depicted on historic ordnance survey maps as a flour and subsequently a corn mill. By the 1909-10 3rd edition, the site is labelled as disused. None of the maps depict a mill pond (5, 6 & 7).
