Summary

The earliest mention of a mill at this site is 1481 whrer it is named as Tittenley or Adderley Hall Mill. It is shown on Burdetts map of Cheshire 1777 as Titley Mill. There mill no longer stands today.

Full Description

Adderley Hall Mill no longer stands, although the leat can be traced along the brook (and now ends in a 4' undershot paddlewheel, which drove a water pump) (1). Bott (2) lists the earliest mention of the mill as 1481, as Tittenley, or Adderley Hall Mill, and gives an NGR (based on the OS 1st edition) of SJ 647 393 (in Shropshire). Burdett marks the mill as Titley Mill (3).
