Full Description

Bronze Age Axe Hammer found in glacial sand at Haslington in 1927. It is fine grained ophitic dolerite or ophitic olivine diorite, weighs 2lb 7oz and is 6.3ins long (1). Longley describes it as a battle axe, says blade and one side reground and it is at Buglawton School (3).
