Summary

The field east of Woodhey Chapel contains a complex of ridge and furrow originally from two fields. A hollow way runs between the headlands of these fields. The ridge and furrow has also been overlain by a 17th century garden earthworks from the hall and two marl pits have also been cut into it. Marl is a mixture of clay and carbonate of lime which can be used for fertilizer.

The field east of Woodhey Chapel contains a complex of ridge & furrow of broad but regular type. Originally from two fields. A hollow way runs between the headlands of these fields. It approaches Woodhey Hall from the north-east. The ridge & furrow is overlain by the garden earthworks of the C17 hall (366/1/5) and are cut away by two marl pits
